HESSLE GOLDEN WEDDING

Mr and Mrs Thomas Holbrook Kynman, of 60, Eastgate, Hessle, celebrated their golden wedding yesterday. Mr and Mrs Kynman were married at St Pauls Church, Hull, on October 11, 1890. Mr Kynman is a native of Hull while his wife was born in Driffield.

He was employed at Messrs Rose, Downs amd Thompson Ltd., The Old Foundry, Hull, for 56 years, retiring in March 1938. He has erected machinery in practically every part of the world including Spain, Italy, Portugal, India, Burma, British East Africa, Portugiese East Africa, the United States, Mexico and Venezuela. He is familiarly known as "Old Tom" among his former workmates.

Mr Kynman, who will be 73 next month, is in fairly good health and able to get out daily.

Mrs Kynman, who is 71, has been confined to her bed for 14 years, but is cheerful and takes an active interest in all affairs. Mr Kynman is the proud possesor of the "Hull Times" long service medal, which he was awarded in 1911.

Mr and Mrs Kynman have a son and a daughter, and three grandchildren, are having a quiet celebratin today. Among the many congratulatory messages was one from Messrs Rose, Downs, and Thompson Ltd.
