Kinsman Family of Rushall and Bulford, Wiltshire

Kinsman Families Photos

This is a single small tree which originates with Bryant Kingsman born in the mid 1600s, and living in Rushall, Wiltshire in the 1670s but no records of his birth have yet been found. There is an evident name change to Kinsman with his grandson Thomas born in 1693 in Idmiston, and similarly on the "Bryant" side of the family which Kinsman line has not been traced to the modern era.

The most recent records found in this direct line are for the family of Levi Albert Kinsman, born 1863 in Islington, London, who was a Managing Silversmith according to the 1911 census. He married his cousin, Mary Custance, in 1888 and they had five daughters and two sons.

I would be very interested to hear from anyone else who is researching this line, and most especially from any descendants of John or Frank Kinsman (the sons of Levi and Mary) who might be willing to join in the DNA study to confirm or deny whether this family is related to the Kingsman family of Overton, Wiltshire which has been researched back to the early 1500s.

If anyone thinks they are linked to any of these families, I would very much like to hear from them.  This is especially true for anyone wishing to add their DNA profile and compare results with other known Kinsman lines.  Contact details for doing this are at Family Tree DNA.

My thanks to Martin Ward for the photos of the family of Joseph and Jane [Kinsman] Rowden and their family.

DNA comments:
There is no DNA marker for this line yet. Any male Kinsman descendant of this line would be most welcome and would help to determine how this tree links with the other Kinsman lines.
