27th Dec 1890	Married Arthur Henry CHAPLIN in Durban, Natal, South Africa On December 27, at St. Cyprian?s, by the Rev. H. Johnston, assisted by the Rev. E. W. Bibby, Arthur Henry, eldest son of Mr. Frank Chaplin, Worcester, England, to Ada, second daughter of Mr. W. H. Kinsman, Durban. Ada Kinsman, a spinster aged 23 of Durban, married Arthur Henry Chaplin, a 25 year old bachelor of Durban, a Store manager, following Banns. William Henry Kinsman was one of the witnesses.

My aunt told me a story about Ada Kinsman (second daughter of WHK and Emma his 1st wife) - that she was very good at mimicry and "play acting", and when Sir Henry Irving with the famous actress Ellen Terry once visited Durban (and stayed, my aunt believed, at the Kinsman?s Sea View estate, home of Sir Irving?s cousin Sarah [Penberthy]), Ellen Terry wanted Ada to return to England with her to train as an actress, but her stepmother Sarah would not give her permission to leave.
