Kinman Families from Tysoe, Warwickshire

Kinman Families
DNA results Photos

This family tree was originally researched by Marion Hall and is reproduced here along with excerpts from her notes with her kind permission. The earliest well documented members of this family are from Tysoe, Warwickshire in the 1700s. There are possible links to earlier family members, these are unproven, but this is one instance where DNA profiles from some of the Kinman men living today coudl prove the links back in the early 1700s.

William KINMAN was born about 1719, probably in Cow Honeybourne, Worcestershire.  He lived in Tysoe, Warwickshire as did many of his descendants. His line is well documented and widely spread with many thriving lines today.

As more documents have become available it has become apparent that the Kinman heritage in Cow Honeybourne is a quite longstanding one and this is now included here albeit with several unproven but internally consistent links.

One of the most intriguing links comes from the will of Henry Kinman alias Hodges, written in 1630 in Cow Honeybourne. This provides a link to another significant Kinman tree, that of Kensington in London, via the head of that tree, Richard Kinman alias Hodges. The Hodges alias was well established in Worcestershire, but otherwise unknown in London.

There are also two separate mini-trees here, that of Thomas Kinman of Wickhamford, stretching from 1510 to about 1730, and John Kinman of Norton by Lenchwick covering 1500 to about 1650. These trees may all interconnect at some time pre 1500, but there is no evidence to prove or disprove such a linkage at this time.

This section contains records on 959 individuals, cross-referenced to 344 sources. There are 33 links to images.
