    'Whereas it hath beene formerly Ordered by this Courte that noe Bayliffs of this Countie should to bee voyde, as by the said Order appeareth, Now upon Examinac[i]on of Jasp[er] Kingsman, Thomas Shinn, John Coney and Robert Hadsly, foure of the said Bayliffs p[re]sent in Courte, [f.6r.] touchinge their obedience and conformitie to the said Order, It appearinge by their sev[er]all confessions that they have since the said Former Order kept Com[m]on Innes or Alehouses contrary thereto, It is thereupon thought fitt and Ordered by this Courte that the sum[m]e of Twentie shillings a piece shallbe leavyed upon their sev[er]all goods and Chattles, as of other offenders in like cases, And that the next Justice of Peace doe take care to send forth their p[re]cepts, and see the same leavyed accordingly; And as to the Bayliffs themselves, This Courte doth not thinke fitt to remove anie of them out of their Places this years, in respect they have given securitie to the sherriffe, But in Case they or anie other Bayliffs shall p[ro]ceed to keepe Innes or Alehouses after the expirac[i]on of [th]e Sherriffwick of this p[re]sent Sherriffe, This Courte doth declare that every such Bayliffe shalbe absolutely [bound deleted] removed and displaced from his said Bayliwicke'.
