Notes

  • Benjamin Kingman was tried at Sussex Assizes on 28 March 1803 and transported for life to Australia.  He departed on board the ship Coramandel on the 4th December 1803, one of 200 convicts on board who all arrived safely in Sydney on the 7th May 1804.

His wife remarried in 1805 in England. It was customary in cases such as this to wait for seven years after a convict had been transported. This may be different in this case as he had been transported for life.

No death record has been found for Benjamin, but no future life for hiim has been found in Australia either. The records only show his safe arrival.
