Will of George Kynman, Wheelwright of Epworth. 1825


This is the last Will and Testatment of me George Kynman the Epworth in the County of Lincoln, Wheelwright, I do order and direct that all my just debts, funeral expenses and the expenses of proving this my will be in the first place paid off and discharged by my executrix hereinafter named. 


I give and devise unto my dear wife Appy the messuage or dwelling house wherein I now reside with the shop, garden, outbuildings and appurtenances to the same adjoining and belonging, to hold the same unto and to the use of my said dear wife Appy her heirs and assigns for ever.


I also give and devise unto my said dear wife Appy and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life all that my close of land containing about five acres lying in the parish of Belton in the said County now in my own occupation with the appurtenances. 


And from and after her decease I give and devise the same unto and to the use of my nephew Richard Kynman the youngest son of my brother Thomas Kynman of Belton aforesaid to hold to the said Richard Kynman his heirs and assigns for ever. Subject nevertheless and charged and chargeable with the payment thereout of the several legacies hereinafter mentioned (that is to say): 


To my nephew Thomas Kynman of Caistor, the legacy or sum of £40. 


To my niece Ann the wife of John Harrison of Stockwith the legacy or sum of £40. 


And to my niece Elizabeth Kynman the legacy or sum of £40 


Which said several legacies I do give and bequeath to them accordingly and direct that the same to be paid within six calendar months next after the decease of my said dear wife. 


All my household goods and furniture, linen, beds, bedding, stock in trade, moneys, securities for money, debts, credits and all and singular other my goods chattels, personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever, I give and bequeath the same unto my said dear wife to and for her own use and benefit for ever. 


And lastly I constitute and appoint my said dear wife sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me made. 


In witness whereof I have to this my last will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and seal the 22nd day of March in the year of our Lord 1816.

On the 24th day of March 1825 Appy Kynman the executrix within named was duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the good chattels and effects of the testator within named and further made oath that the personal estate of the deceased did not amount in value to the sum of six hundred pounds.

The testator died on the thirteenth day of February 1825.
