Will of Robert Kinman, Yeoman of Cow Honeybourne. 1661


September 10, 1661. 


Robert Kinman of Cow Honibourne alias Chapel Honibourne in the County of Gloucester, Yeoman, being sick in body yet in perfect memory blessed be the Lord, I do ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following: 


Imprimis, my soul I commend into the hands of Almighty God that gave it trusting only in the merit and merits of Jesus Christ Redeemer, not having anything of my own righteousness, hoping to obtain to joyful resurrection. My body I commend to the Earth to be decently buried according to the discretion of my executrix. 


Item, concerning that small effects that God has lent me I do give and bequeath unto my son John Kinman the one moiety of all the premises at the age of 25 years if in case his grandmother Mary Kinman be then dead.


And after he shall possess of this moiety one year and a day that he shall pay unto my daughter Sarah Kinman, £20 of lawful money of England for her portion. 


Item, I give unto my daughter Mary Kinman the sum of £20 when he shall be possessed of said moiety two years and a day. 


Item, I give unto my daughter Ann Kinman, the sum of £20 when he shall be possessed of the said moiety of the premises three years and a day. 


Item, I give unto my daughter Dinah Kinman the sum of £20 when he shall be possessed of the said moiety four years and a day. 


Item, I give unto my daughter Abigail Kinman the sum of £20 when he shall be possessed of the said moiety five years and a day. 


Item, I give unto my daughter Elizabeth, the sum of £20 when he shall be possessed of the said moiety of the premises six years and a day. 


Item, I give unto the child which my wife [carries] which yet not born the sum of £20 when he shall be possessed of the said moiety seven years and a day. 


My mind and will is that if in case any of these my children shall depart this life before they shall come to years to receive their portion that it shall return back again to my son John Kinman. 


My mind and will is that when my son John shall come to enter upon this moiety that then he shall enter upon the moiety of all the stock and crop upon the whole premises. 


Item, I give unto my son John Kinman my two *** Axetrees which *** **** that shall be then upon the premises when he shall enter on the said premises. 


Item, I give unto my son John my great brass pan and great brass pot and cupboards and tableboards and a salting cross and a malt mill and one ********. 


Item, I give unto my son John that other moiety when his mother Margaret Kinman shall decease. 


Item, I do nominate and ordain my loving wife Margaret Kinman to be my sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament giving her all my goods and chattels movable and immovable not bequeathed, paying my debts and seeing my funeral discharged. 


I do nominate my loving brother Edward Phillips and William Bagg overseers.
