This is the last Will and Testament of me Mary Ann Benson of Sydney in the Colony of New South Wales
I bequeath to my brother Richard Kingsman of Devonshire Street, Shoreditch, London the sum of five hundred pounds sterling
I bequeath to my brother-in-law Paul Benson of Ryde Kissing Point near Sydney aforesaid the sum of five hundred pounds sterling.
I bequeath to my old and faithful servant William Scott the sum of one hundred pounds sterling.
I bequeath all my household furniture to my son John Benson
I bequeath all my plate and jewellery to my daughter Mary Ann Dewar for her own sole and separate use and benefit independant of her present or any future husband
I devise and bequeath all the residue and remainder of my Estates Property and Effects Real and Persoanl whatsoever and wheresoever in the world (including all estates vested in me as Trustee or Mortgagee - subject to the equities affecting the same) unto my sons John Benson and Henry George Benson and my daughter Mary Ann Dewar in equal shares and proportions as Tenants in common.
I declare that the share of my said daughter shall go and be subject to such trusts intents and purposes as she shall notwithstanding any coverture by and Deed or Will appoint and in default of and subject to any such appointment shall be for her own and sole and separate use and benefit and independant of and free from the debts engagements and control of her present or any future husband and so that her receipts whether covert or sole shall be good discharge.
And I appoint my said sons John Benson and Henry George Benson executors of this my Will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight
