Abstract of the Will of Sarah Kingsman, widow of Southampton. 1752.


In the Name of God Amen.


I, Sarah Kingsman of the town of Southampton, widow, being in pretty good health of body etc...


I give my sonne the Reverend William Kingsman, clerk, £350, and plate etc....


I give my daughter Sarah wife of Edward Hicks of Lymington, Co. Southampton, gent., my clock etc...


I give my daughter Elizabeth wife of William Purbeck of Southampton, merchant, my ring etc.. and after her death I give the ring to her daughter Sarah Purbeck.


I give my daughter Margaret Kingsman £160 etc...


I give my granddaughters Elizabeth Purbeck and Sarah Hicks £50 apiece.


I give my nephew the Reverend Thomas Kingsman, clerk, his great uncle's picture.


I give Martha Debdin, now living with me £5 and Mary Elliott £1 1s.


The residue of my goods etc. I give to my said son William Kingsman and my daughters Sarah Hicks, Elizabeth Purbeck and Margaret Kingsman, whom I appoint executors.
