I, Alice Kingsman of Orange Street near Swallow Street in the parish of Saint James Westminster in the County of Middlesex, Spinster, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say,
First I give and bequeath to Mr. John Pyke of Leicester Fields in the County of Middlesex, upholsterer, and to Mrs. Elizabeth Goff of Surry Street in the parish of Saint Clement Danes in the same County, widow, the sum of ten pounds apiece for the care and trouble they will be at in the execution of this my Will and the Trusts hereby in them reposed.
And I give and bequeath to the daughter of my deceased nephew Edward Burchill fifty pounds for her own sole and separate use and not to be liable to the debts, power or control of her husband and her receipt shall be a good discharge for the same.
And I do give devise and bequeath unto the said John Pyke and Elizabeth Gough all and everything freehold, messuages and Tenements and Hereditaments and also all my Leasehold Estate and all the rest and residue of my Goods, Chattels and personal Estate to hold unto them the said John Pyke and Elizabeth Goff, their heirs, executors and administrators to the use and upon the trusts and to and for the purposes hereinafter mentioned and declared forming and concerning the same.
That is to say, upon Trust to receive the yearly rents and produce and profits of all the said freehold leasehold and personal estates and premises and to pay the same or otherwise permit the same rents produce and profits to be received by my niece Alice Brothers the wife of Andrew Brothers, wheelwright, during the term of her natural life and for her own sole and separate use and to be at her own disposal and not to be subject or anyways liable to the debts, power or control, forfeitures or engagements of her said husband and so as he shall not or cannot intercede or have anything to do therewith.
And from and after the decease of my niece Alice Brothers I give devise and bequeath the said freehold and leasehold Estates and premises and rest and residue of my said personal Estate unto such person or persons and such Estate or Estates and in such manner and to and for such uses intents and purposes as my said niece Alice Brothers shall by any deed or deeds, writing or writings, or any writing being or purporting to be her last Will and Testament notwithstanding her Coverture to be signed in the presence of two or more credible witnesses, give devise bequeath direct limit or appoint.
And for want of such gift devise bequest direction limitation or appointment I give devise and bequeath all my said freehold and leasehold Estates and premises and the same residue of my personal Estates unto Alice Brothers the daughter of my said niece Alice Brothers her heirs executors administrators and assigns to and for her and their own proper use.
And upon the further Trust that they, the said John Pyke and Elizabeth Goff, and the survivor of them, and their heirs executors and administrators of such survivor do and shall at any time or times in the lifetime of my said niece Alice Brothers the elder sell lease assign or otherwise dispose of all my said freehold and leasehold estates and premises and residue of my personal estate and the moneys anyways arising therefrom or any part of parts of the said premises to such person or persons and in such manner and form and to and for such uses intents Trusts and purposes as she my said niece Alice Brothers the elder notwithstanding her Coverture shall by any deed or deeds, writing or writings, to be signed by her in the presence of two or more credible witnesses direct limit or appoint anything in this my Will before contained to the contrary thereof notwithstanding it being my will and intention that my said niece Alice Brothers the elder shall have the full and absolute power and control of and over all my said freehold and leasehold estates and residue of my personal estate as if she was a *****.
And I constitute and appoint the said John Pyke and Elizabeth Gough Executors of this my last will and Testament and hereby revoke all wills by me at any time heretofore made.
In witness whereof, I the above named Alice Kingsman have to this my last Will and Testament affixed my seal this 4th day of December in the year of our Lord 1744 after I had heard of the death of my sister in law Elizabeth Kingsman.
Memorandum that the above written will was fully read over by the under named William Dent to the Testatrix before her execution thereof and likewise the ment purpose thereof shortly told to her
