Abstract of Will of Margaret Kingman nee Debnam. 1721


  • Margarett KINGMAN, Widow of Froome Swd, signed will 4 Nov 1721.

  • £500 to my granddaughter Margarett KINGMAN when she is 22;

  • or if she dies first, one half to be divided between the three grandsons and the other half to Exix;

  • or if one of the grandsons dies before 21, Margarett to share the legacy equally with the survivor(s)

  • £400 to my grandson Debnam KINGMAN when he is 21

  • £400 to my grandson William KINGMAN when he is 21

  • £200 to my grandson Solomon KINGMAN when he is 21

  • the four grandchildren to share any loss in London or elsewhere proportionately out of their respective legacies 

  • the close of pasture called Rack Close or Lilly Batch to my granddaughter Margarett for life; after her decease to my grandsons Debnam KINGMAN and William KINGMAN for the remainder of the term

  • the income of the plot of land near SMITH's Barn, the house in Frome Field late Mr William GOURGFIELD's Snr and the house near Garston Stile to my two grandsons Debnam KINGMAN and William KINGMAN during their minority and then to my granddaughter Margrett KINGMAN

  • six silver spoons marked with MK, one pair of silver salts and one silver tumbler, the beds bedstead etc. now in the best chamber with the fire shovel, tongs and hearth, one oaken chest of drawers which was formerly my mother's, one wallnut chest of drawers and walnut looking glass which is now in the parlour, the least table of the three best in the hall, the cloath bed and all its furniture, two bell-metal pots, six pewter dishes, two dozen pewter plates, two spits and the best bed with all its furniture which now stands in the garret over the drawing shop, to my granddaughter Margrett KINGMAN when she is 22

  • one oaken chest of drawers to my grandson Debnam KINGMAN

  • £5 to my daughter in law Sarah KINGMAN

  • the rest of my money, goods and moveables to my daughter Margaret SMITH.

  • Exix: my daughter Margaret SMITH.
