Abstract of the will of Solomon Debnam, Clothier of Frome. 1694


To be buried in the parish church of Frome


The dwelling house I now live in with all lands etc belonging to it, which I purchased for Mr Roynon, to my daughter Margarett Kingman for life; and after her death, to Samuel Kingman, my grandson, his heirs etc. for ever


The little new erected house, now in the possession of John Debnam, with the garden adjoining to my granddaughter Margarett Kingman, her heirs etc. for ever


The other new erected dwelling house, now in the possession of William Gurgfield, and all the lands etc. belonging to it which I purchased of Mr Moxon, except what is given to my granddaughter to my grandson Solomon Kingman, his heirs etc. for ever, but my daughter Margarett Kingman shall have the profits until Solomon comes of age


The 2-acre close of pasture which I purchased of Mr Robert Smith to my grandson Samuel Kingman for all my term in it


The acre of ground which I purchased of Mr Sellwood to my grandson Solomon Kingman for all my term in it


The acre of ground which I purchased of Mr Avery to my daughter Margarett Kingman for the term I have in it


£100 to my loving wife Margarett


£20 yearly to my wife for life, to be paid quarterly out of my personal estate


£10 to be invested by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Frome and the interest to be paid yearly to such of the poor who do not receive relief from the parish


£10 to my poor relations in such proportions as my Executors think fit


Residue to my daughter Margarett Kingman and my grandchildren Samuel, Solomon and Margaret Kingman to be divided equally between them, the share of any dying before they are 21 or marry going to the survivors


10s each to my Executors to buy rings
