In the name of God Amen

I Johanna Symons of the parish of Poundstock in the county of Cornwall, spinster, altho’ labouring at present under some indisposition of body, yet being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding through the mercy of God do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following:

First and principally I resign my soul with the utmost humility in to the hands of Almighty God my Creator, humbly hoping for a blessed immortality thro’ the merits and mediation of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ:

And my body I desire may be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix hereinafter to be mentioned: and as for my worldly goods I give and dispose thereof in manner and form following:

First I give unto each and every one of my brother Philip’s children one shilling each to be paid by my executrix immediately after my death.

I give unto each and every one of my brother John’s children one shilling each to be paid immediately after my death.

I give unto each and every one of my sister Ebet’s children one shilling each to be paid immediately after my death

I give unto my brother John Symons the sum of ten pounds to be paid immediately after my death by my executrix.

All the rest, residue and remainder of my goods, chattels, debts, wearing apparel, household furniture and effects of what sort so ever, except what has been given by me in my lifetime, I give and bequeath unto my beloved sister Ebet Kinsman of the parish of Poundstock in the county of Cornwall, she paying all my just debts and funeral expenses, whom I do make my executrix, and do appoint my brother John Symons and Eulalia Dayman, wife of the Revd Charles Dayman, to be executors in Trust for my said sister Ebet Kinsman.

And further my will is that the remainder of my goods, money, chattels and effects of what sort so ever shall after the death of my sister Ebet Kinsman devolve to her children and be applied to their sole use and benefit.

In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of April one thousand seven hundred and eighty six.

Jo. Symons

Signed sealed and delivered to be the last will and testament of the said Johanna Symons in presence of

Charles Dayman
